Case Report : Urinary Retention and Closed Pyometra in 9 Years Old Pomeranian

Abstract


A 9 years old Pomeranian dog has difficulty urinating, abdominal distension, and vomiting 5 times a day. Based on the results of the physical examination, the dog was depressed, pyrexia, pale mucous membran, and severe dehydration. Based on the examination of complete blood count, the dog had anemia, leukocytosis, and thrombocytosis. In addition to blood tests, radiographs were also performed. The results of the radiographic examination showed an enlarged uterus and bladder. Based on the results of laboratory tests, it was diagnosed that the dog had urinary retention and closed pyometra.
